Killing Afghans, ‘Pakis’, Iraqis, Somalis…WHY???!!!

Updated March 13, 2012…

When the news of a US soldier going out to kill Afghans, first broke, American media were focusing on TWO deaths even as they also reported that the Afghanis were saying about 17 had been killed. Almost immediately other diffusers and excuses began to pour forth, giving “News Coverage” a new meaning.

The New York Times can STILL not bring itself to report the 16 murders without offering some softening words; in the headline, the US soldier is said to kill civilians even as NYT goes on to describe what the soldier (from our Puget Sound area) did:

New York Times: “U.S. Sergeant Is Said to Kill 16 Civilians in Afghanistan

  • “…the soldier, who had walked more than a mile from his base, tried door after door, eventually breaking in to kill within three separate houses. The man gathered 11 bodies, including those of 4 girls younger than 6, and set fire to them, villagers said.”

As if to justify the murders or at least, to minimize the tragedy, Super-Patriot, Angry-Bird John McCain shamelessly shifted the focus to 9-11 instead of offering even a few grudging words of regret or sympathy.

We should not forget that the attacks on the United States of America originated in Afghanistan,” Senator John McCain told CNN. Inferring of course, that a few deaths of the unwashed, here or there, should not be a cause for concern. Continue reading

Why Muslims MUST get engaged everywhere in the US

The Grand Question of the Day is not whether Muslims should get engaged in all aspects of life around us, rather, it is whether Muslims can afford not to get actively engaged and how long we may be expected to last if we remain isolated in our own country?

It is said there are three kinds of people; those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who ask, “What happened?”

These days, Muslims fall in the second and third categories. We avoid getting involved and offer justifications that salve our conscience that we don’t need to get involved after all.

Some Muslims say it is “Haram” (forbidden) to associate and cooperate with the (“Unbeliever”) “kuffar”. The theory being that the workings of “Muslim” countries offer us a better chance to help with honesty, decency and Justice, than the workings in the “kuffar” countries…the THEORY!

The facts are in stark contrast with the idealistic picture we have in our minds between the Good (“Muslim” countries) and the Bad (“kuffar” countries). In fact, there is more Iman (faith) in the so-called “kuffar” countries, than there is in the countries we would love to think of as “Muslim” countries. We have greater freedoms HERE, we can pursue our jobs with more ease and not worry about paying bribes just the stay in office or, get promoted and for the most part, we get more respect and greater peace here than we would in any “Muslim” country.

There is also nothing in the Quran, the prohibits Muslims from working in countries where we are minorities.

Some Muslims argue against cooperation with “the kuffar” because they are hostile towards Muslims and our cooperation will only help them persecute Muslims more.

Some Muslims keep thinking this is only for a short time and they will return to the Old country “one of these days”. These people are never going to settle down, but few of them will ever return top the Old country; they will continue to grumble and idealize the Old country more and more, but with every visit “back home” they will postpone their plans of return for a little while longer…until they are buried here.

What to do? Continue reading

The US; A Terrorist State and Sponsor of Terrorism?

Eric Holder Justifies Murder by Presidential Decree.

A terrorist state is one that acts in a way to strike fear in the hearts of civilian populations in order to promote its own agenda. Thus, while the US freely condemns states like Iran, North Korea, Syria and Gadhafi’s Libya, our own allies such as Israel, Bahrain, Russia, Philippines and others, also fit the description of being a terrorist state.
Of course, if one dares to be so “unpatriotic” as to examine the actions of the United States, we too, fall comfortably within this category. Our so-called “sanctions” that are designed to inflict sever deprivations on civilian populations with the goal of “regime change” are nothing less than terrorism.

A state that sponsors terrorism, is one that supports acts of terrorism perpetrated by clients and proxies. Unfortunately, the US falls smack-dab in the middle of this description as well! Consider our support for Israel’s activities against the Palestinians, the fact that we are funding ($400 million in 2010 budget) and materially supporting the MEK (listed as a terrorist org by the State Dept.) in Iran to conduct attacks on Iranian installations and civilians.

We continue to move from bad to worse; just when we start thinking the US could not POSSIBLY get any lower in moral standing, it does. Continue reading

It’s Not Getting Better For Muslims In America

It keeps getting worse…
No. not really.
Yes, REALLY.

The common myth embraced by most Muslims is, if Muslims keep their heads down, do nothing bad, tell everyone how much they love America, wear flag lapel-pins and sing songs of gratitude for being allowed to be in America, then MAYBE, they will be left alone….
…until someone decides to take you down and then all that has to be said is that you are suspected of sympathizing with terrorism or, Al-Q or, helping those who are planning to attack the US or its “coalition friends”. Continue reading

I wish I were fighting for Pakistan rather than the US…

I wish I were fighting for Pakistan rather than for the US and I would like my son to be fighting and killing for Pakistan in the Pakistan Army“.

I can already see at least one hysterically paranoid person getting ready to string me up from the nearest lamp-post and a Hell of a lot of other REAL Americans getting mad at me. I can also see a lot of very sincere Americans…reasonable people all, wondering if I have taken leave of my senses and then, wondering what I am doing in the US.

Let’s add the the mix….

What if I then contributed $1000 to Jay Inslee or his opponent-to-be, Rob McKenna. Any bets that my money would be thrown back at me faster than a red-hot brick? they would also condemn my stand and tell me unequivocally, that I should leave this country if my heart and loyalties are so passionately with the country of my birth, Pakistan.
At the same time, I would be pilloried for being an untrustworthy “Muzlem” and I would be used to point out how Muslims are here to undermine this, so free, land of “Judeo-Christian values”. Continue reading

Congress Okay’s Indefinite Military “Detention” of Muslims

So, who’s going to vote against the Holy Grail of Defense Appropriations, especially to protect “Muzlems“?

“Defense” has become such an ultra-patriotic issue that nobody dares speak against “Defense” and all sorts of evil is justified behind the screen of “Defense”. Our idiotic “War!”s have morphed into a “Defense” issue where being against the Iraq “War!” and the Afghan “War!” means we are weak on “Defense” and we are against “our boys” who are out there sacrificing their lives to protect us. Nobody dares ask how this protection became necessary or why and why opposing the idiot “War!”s means we hate “our boys in uniform”.

“Defense” has become a racket where millionaire have become billionaires but the appetites are not yet sated.

It is this atmosphere that the latest Defense Appropriations bills came up in the House and in the Senate. I suppose it is fine that they did, after all, once we are in a “War!”, there is little choice but to continue funding the “Defense” forces. This is where “earmarks” slither into the picture. These are supposedly “minor” attachments to the larger bill such that in order to vote against the earmark, one has to vote against the entire bill. In matters of important bills, it is very difficult for a Senator or a Representative to vote against an entire bill, just to take a stand against an earmark.
This must have been the line of thinking when they inserted provisions in the Defense Appropriations Bills (H.R. 1540 and S. 1967), provisions that could almost be overlooked unless one were reading the bill (which most Congress members don’t); sections 1031 and 1032 allow the Administration to imprison (“Detain”) people indefinitely. Pakistan’s JF-17 Presentation in Dubai Air Show

Guns or butter? that has been the single driving question throughout history.

Pakistan’s JF-17 is a nice fighter jet that speaks well for Pakistan’s military assembly and production plants. The aircraft is a Chinese design, made up of components from many countries (mostly Chinese, some Russian and Western) and assembled in Pakistan, I doubt if it is better that the US F-16 and F-18s in any respects except for being cheaper. By next year, it is estimated that Pakistan will be producing 58% of the components itself.

It is a national disgrace, that these aircraft were first used against the people of South Waziristan.

That said, it is a national tragedy for Pakistan to be so involved in building war machines that cost BILLIONS and become obsolete after just a few years Continue reading

Action! America’s March Towards Nazism?

Mission Creep: Start with a plan to do something and before you know it, the mission has ballooned to include all sorts of other things.

These days, Muslims are being persecuted to greater and greater degree, in many cases, harkening back to the “good old days” of the Hitlerian Final Solution, which is an example of another Mission Creep (See Action plan at the end). Continue reading

If Muslims did what others do…

I published a story, “Detroit Muslims force women to sit in the back of buses” a few days ago, it was not correct, I had in fact, changed a few words that then affected the perspective of the story in a different manner. The actual headline was: “At Front of Brooklyn Bus, a Clash of Religious and Women’s Rights” from a New York Times story and it was about the use of a private, but publicly-funded busline for the Orthodox Jewish Community of Brooklyn.

My motivations for sending out the changed story were to find out how people (Muslims and non-Muslims) would react to Muslims doing such a thing and how differently this story would be viewed BECAUSE Muslims were thought to be doing such a thing in this land of “Freedom and Democracy”. My point was Continue reading

Murder of Anwar Al-Awlaki; Slaughter of the Constitution

President Barak Obama grandly announced that a CIA drone attack had killed Anwar Al-Awlaki in Yemen along with Samir Khan, the editor of his website. “This is further proof that al Qaeda and its affiliates will have no safe haven anywhere in the world,” Obama said. The Press dutifully reported the announcement, some joined in the celebrations of having gotten another terrorist but nobody questioned the methodology that resulted in ending not one, but TWO American citizens’ lives.

Who cares? We got another one! Someone should care, certainly I do.

They were murdered. Continue reading
