Now Manchester…

A young man sees an opportunity to murder many others with a bomb in Manchester and he takes it. The man kills 19 other and injures another 58 or so young folk…all innocents…and in the process, blows his own body because he was the delivery system for the bomb.

The man was Muslim, Salman Abedi. That knowledge strikes like a serrated dagger inside the breast of every sane Muslim around the Earth; Oh Lord, why a Muslims? It is bad enough that these innocents were maimed and murdered but for this atrocity to have been committed by a Muslim, makes it a personal insult and a personal injury.

Yes, in 1996, the IRA also bombed Manchester using a 1500 kg bomb, but they had the decency to phone in a warning so people could be evacuated and 75,000 were. Nobody was killed even though about 200 were injured, but the important thing from the IRA’s point of view, was to send the message.

What was Salman thinking? Maybe it was the same line of thought that so many other despicable Muslims have used as an excuse for their murders as well, “I’ll be one of the most Muslim people, I will defend Islam and I will kill these Kuffar (Unbelievers) and I will also kill myself in order to become a Shaheed (martyr) and go straight to Heaven”.

No, you stupid pile of dung, you cannot go to Heaven because God forbids murder and the prophet Mohammed is known to have said,

Israel or Palestine? “My Home!”

This is a small part of the well-known story of two families, a Jewish one and a Muslim one, who are rooted in the same land…in the same house.

If Muslims did what others do…

I published a story, “Detroit Muslims force women to sit in the back of buses” a few days ago, it was not correct, I had in fact, changed a few words that then affected the perspective of the story in a different manner. The actual headline was: “At Front of Brooklyn Bus, a Clash of Religious and Women’s Rights” from a New York Times story and it was about the use of a private, but publicly-funded busline for the Orthodox Jewish Community of Brooklyn.

My motivations for sending out the changed story were to find out how people (Muslims and non-Muslims) would react to Muslims doing such a thing and how differently this story would be viewed BECAUSE Muslims were thought to be doing such a thing in this land of “Freedom and Democracy”. My point was

Profiling: Anti-Muslim training at our Police Departments

I have been saying for some time, that our Military, Police, FBI and CIA are being steeped in fear and suspicion of Islam and Muslims. This takes forms of “Recommended Reading” Lists provided to them during and after their training…and on the lists are books such as “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam” by Robert Spencer, books by “experts” on Islam and terrorism, like Daniel Pipes and a host of other bigots who make a lot of money spreading their venom against Islam and Muslims.

Additionally, “experts” are hired by the military, the FBI, the CIA and often, paid for, by Department of Homeland Security (I call it “Fatherland Security”) funds. These “experts” got to their fame and fortune by spreading fear and hate against Islam and Muslims, by “quoting” enough out-of-context snippets from the Quran to make their case before naïve audiences who do not seek to verify the “quotes”…if they did, they would know them to be false!

These days, it is enough to speak loud and long about how Muslims are predisposed to violence and how they are easily recruited as suicide bombers…and then move on to talking about Muslims, Muslims and MUSLIMS, so that by the time these “experts” are done, another cadre of fully-armed guardians of the nation, is ready and willing to nab the last “Muzlem“!

Norway Massacre; a Symptom or the Disease?

We have all mourned the tragedy of the children slaughtered on Norway by Anders Breivig, a right-wing Christian terrorist. Muslims heaved a sigh of relief that this man was not a “Muzlem“, as everyone believed at first, but a REAL, “homegrown Terrorist”, i.e., a Christian. Some of us Muslims, have taken great pains to point out that Breivig is NOT a Muslim and conversation has been place on the front burner, that Christians…non-Muslims…are just as capable of butchery as Muslims.

In the next few days, there will be endless acknowledgments that yes, we must also be wary of Christian right-wing extremists as we are of Muslim extremists and that terrorism is not a monopoly after all. There will also be the inevitable, “yes, BUT…” and people will start to point at Muslims again and eventually, the conversation that remains, will once again, focus on Muslims and on Islam.

Norway Slaughter; Give Muslims a Break!

I opened today’s (July 23, 2011) Seattle Times and their second headline regarding the Oslo bombing is, “Official says no link to terrorists; death toll attack could rise“.

The anti-Muslim hysteria in the West has degenerated so far that a man who kills over NINETY people has “no link to terrorists“, but a Muslim who tries to board a flight is already deemed a “terrorist”. Even if the headline came on a feed, The Seattle Times could use its own judgment (Horrors!) and re-write the same headline as, “Official says no link to organized terrorists; death toll attack could rise“.

It appears that when it comes to Muslims, the Seattle Times could spare the extra thought to help not skew opinions against us. As a newspaper, I would have hoped that their consciousness would be made well aware of the current anti-Muslim hysteria and the paper would be going out of their way to avoid promoting it.

Then again, perhaps we are expecting too much.

Israel; Jewish State/Two-State

It looks like everything with regard to Israel, turns into an existential issue…”if this is allowed then it will doom Israel/Jews”, Blind Supporters of Israel seem to say. Others, who wish to support Israel and Jews are placed in the difficult situation of seeming to reject Israel (and therefore, Jews) or, underwriting Israel’s high-handedness and atrocities.

 

For decades, Israel has been asking and then demanding that the world recognize Israel as a legitimate state with most takers from Europe and Americas…a guilt-decision by the very nations that permitted or participated in the Shoah against Jews during WWII.

 

Now that there is explicit or, implicit recognition by almost every country in the world, Israel has ratcheted its demand up by several notches, it now demands that Israel be recognized as a JEWISH state; a state by Jews, for Jews and of Jews…clearly cleansed of the “Palestinian Problem” or, “the Demographic Bomb”

Southwest Airlines and Institutional Bigotry

Bigotry against Muslims and Islam has become so institutionalized that barely any notice is given when the fig-leaf of “Security” is used to hide behind and bash Muslims.

Last week a young female Muslim student was removed by Police from a Southwest flight on orders from the Captain of the craft. The Captain was reacting to his flight stewardess who said she was “uncomfortable” with the Muslim woman because she was wearing a hijab and the stewardess had heard her say, “It’s a go” in her cell phone just before boarding.
