Almost 300 people killed in Sri Lanka and the government there says it was the work of s fringe Muslim group. Yes, the government might be wrong but the tragedy is that they could also be RIGHT!

I got up to an easy day this morning, had tea and my best-in-the-world cereal that I made myself and was looking forward to an easy day…

 

Then I logged on to my computer.

• Sunday morning bomb at Christian church in Pakistan kills at least 75  PESHAWAR, Pakistan – A suicide bomb attack on a church killed at least 75 people as parishioners left the building Sunday, officials said, in what is the biggest attack on Pakistan’s Christian community in many years.
  Women and children were among the victims of the attack, which took place as a morning service was drawing to a close. The rapidly-rising death toll reached at least 75 within hours of the blast….
• Islamist gunmen hold hostages in Kenya siege, 59 dead  (Reuters) – Islamist militants were holding hostages on Sunday at a shopping mall in Nairobi, where at least 59 people were killed in an attack by the Somali al Shabaab group…and more than 175 taken to hospitals…

This is sickening news. Religious fervor is so strong among Muslims, especially over the past few decades, that we Muslims feel it is justified to kill anyone who strays off our own tight, boundaries. Such targets are not only Christians and other non-Muslims, such targets are expanding to internecine slaughters as well where people who regard themselves as the most Muslims among people, are killing everyone within their reach, as a way of safeguarding and spreading Islam.

There is enough material in the headlines regarding Syria, Egypt, Israel and Maj. Nidal, to fill a small book…for each!

Syria.

This is a most difficult area to be considering, the choices are ALL unpleasant, the repercussions awful and good answers are Zero. We already know the horrors Bashar Al-Assad has been raining down on his people, on the majority Sunni population. What began as a Sunni speaking out, joined by many Shia, was quickly turned into a factional war between Shia and Sunni and is now on the verge of becoming an Shia-Sunni existential civil war from which there is no going back. The situation created by Assad and now the “neighbors” is such that the Shia and the Sunni are each afraid that should the other win, they will be annihilated, so the battle is on.

We have an number of countries that are arrayed against Assad or, the Shia or, both. These countries include the USA, Arabia, Qatar and to lesser degree, Egypt, Turkey and Israel; an interesting alliance of distrust, all for their own, differing reasons, but since the enemy of my enemy is my friend, these countries are happy to dance with each other….for now.

Saudis Bulldoze Islam’s History

The newspaper headline shouts, “Medina: Saudis take a bulldozer to Islam’s history“, but nobody is listening because these atrocities against Islam, have been happening for decades. Here are some excerpts from this latest “expose”:

1. Heritage campaigners and many locals have looked on aghast as the historic sections of Mecca and Medina have been bulldozed to make way for gleaming shopping malls, luxury hotels and enormous skyscrapers. The Washington-based Gulf Institute estimates that 95 per cent of the 1,000-year-old buildings in the two cities have been destroyed in the past 20 years.
2. ….Other historic sites lost include the Prophet’s birthplace – now a library – and the house of his first wife, Khadijah, which was replaced with a public toilet block.
