Waters of Hate are rising, who will stop them?

Those who ignore the lessons of History (and current events), are destined to repeat History.

It is growing in the US and in the West, the hate-mongering against Islam, Arabs and Muslims is growing to greater and greater violence. Even US Agencies such as Police, FBI, ATF, ICE and others, even the White House, the Cabinet, Congress … even the military, are getting further and further dedicated towards Islamophobia.

 

We, the people of ALL faiths, need to actively stand and reject ALL aspects of hate, whether it is against Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus…against anyone because the dogs of hate are strong and demonic; once they are unleashed against one group, they will tear at everyone. This phenomenon is growing EVERYWHERE, not just in the US and the West against Muslims. We see it from the Philippines, to Myanmar, to India, to Pakistan, to Iraq, Syria, Israel…everywhere and the world bodies stand gutlessly and silently because it is happening to “them” or, our friends are involved in the genocide.

Mission Creep: Start with a plan to do something and before you know it, the mission has ballooned to include all sorts of other things.

These days, Muslims are being persecuted to greater and greater degree, in many cases, harkening back to the “good old days” of the Hitlerian Final Solution, which is an example of another Mission Creep (See Action plan at the end).

It began with a story of a young Muslim lady who was removed from her Southwest Air flight by a paranoid stewardess in San Diego in March 2011. In May 2011, two Muslims were removed from their Atlantic flight because the pilot refused to take Muslims on his plane.

Following the second event, 58 leaders and heads of Churches, Synagogues and Mosques wrote a letter to President Obama asking him to instruct the Secretary of Transportation to inform all airlines of serious consequences if they arbitrarily removed people from their flights; we got a form-letter from the White House in reply.

In the meantime, stories of Muslims suffering humiliating and terrorizing treatment at the hands of Customs and Border agents at entry-points like the Blaine (WA) had also been piling up for years…again with letters to the regional head of ICE/CBP/USCIS and to Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security that I refer to as, “Fatherland Security”.

Be The Change You Want To See

I saw the Duane Reade story below and decided to call the overall head office of the parent company, WalGreen. I called the Greg Wason, the President’s office at 847.914.2500 and left a message with his assistant, asking him to review the case of the woman being fired. I know Duane Reade says she quit, but when one is forced to quit, it is tantamount to being fired.

“Jihad Against Islam”

Southern Poverty Law Center just released their Summer 2011 Intelligence Report with a leading report on “Jihad Against Islam“. A bold issue that tackles almost all the Fear- and Hate-mongers against Islam and Muslims in America, including the very powerful and famous…including the bogus, self-promoting “experts on Islam and Terrorism” like Pipes, Gaffney, Horowitz, Hannity, Fox “News” etc.,

It is very encouraging to see a report by an organization that is much respected in the US, for its stance against hate. We hope this is the first step in America, of the awareness and actions against the anti-Muslim hysteria being promoted at all platforms.

There are a few things I would have changed in the report.

Gen. Boykin’s fantasy march against Islam

Today, in America the privileged are those with closed minds, who drive Americans to the verge of hysteria with fearful images of Muslims gone wild, determined to slaughter every “Unbeliever” they can find…WE can find; I am a Muslim AND an American, so I switch from one identity to another, which can sometimes, confuse the reader. Rest assured, I am both and there is no contradiction in that.

The Hate-Islam industry is vast and growing, some leaders of this industry are sincere if misguided Christians who believe any perception of challenge to their faith, must be met with an assault on that challenge. Other leaders in this industry are sincere if misguided Jews who believe any defense of Israel, by definition, includes destroying Muslims and Arabs wherever they can be found.

Then there are leaders of the Hate-Islam industry who can feel the pulse of fear and ignorance in the general population and they know that if they can stoke those fears, then the leaders will become greater leaders, richer and more popular. These opportunistic leaders include politicians and “experts” on Islam and “terrorism”, they are fully aware that their fostering of hate and fear of Islam and Muslims is based on false presumptions, but they do not care, as long as their goals are furthered.

Back on February 11, 2011, General William G. Boykin wrote an article on The Texas Insider, entitled, “Shariah Law or Constitution? America Must Choose“. This is the same general who toured churches and heaped scorn in Islam and Muslims, saying things like, “My God is Jesus while theirs (Muslims) is Satan”.

Dear President Obama,

We the undersigned represent a cross-section of faith communities, particularly in the Northwest (Puget Sound) area. Among the signatories are leaders from Muslim, Jewish and Christian faiths, representing a large number of organizations in the region.

We are taking this unusual step of jointly writing to you in hope that our letter will move you to take some affirmative action to stop one aspect of a growing problem of increasing persecution and harassment of Muslims in the United States.

What is happening to my America?

With great fanfare, Republican House Representative from New York’s 3rd Congressional District, Peter King, who is also the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, convened a hearing with the title: “The Extent of Radicalization in the American Muslim Community and That Community’s Response.”.

There are so many ironies in this entire charade that we could all die laughing, if it were not so deathly serious.

Rep. King is the same man who was an ardent and activist supporter of the terrorist Irish Republican Army, so much so, that when he was the Grand Marshall leading a St Patrick’s Day parade in New York, the Irish Republic refused to join the parade, as had been the tradition, citing King’s terrorist sympathies and work for the IRA.

Referring to the civilian killings by the IRA in Northern Ireland, King said at the time, “If civilians are killed in an attack on a military installation, it is certainly regrettable, but I will not morally blame the IRA for it“.

As recently as the 2010 elections, Peter King’s political opponent in the Congressional race, called King “A Terrorist Collaborator“, citing his support for the IRA. It is a shameful commentary on the electorate, that King still won.

Iranian Jews to be investigated

Breaking news from Iran:

Iranian government is planning to investigate Iranian Jews for their loyalty to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

 

“Iranian Jews are not really Persian, they are foreigners who settled here many years ago” said Parliamentarian Farhad Bewaquf. “The Shah catered to them because of America and Israel and he placed them in high positions. But now that we have an Islamic government, we know that the loyalty of Jews in this country is doubtful, I cannot believe that they would consider themselves as Iranians__ they are all Zionists!“.

 

Hostile Iranian leaders are calling for the expulsion of all Jews and the imprisonment of those suspected of spying for Israel. The Ahmedinejad government is trying to pacify the leaders by suggesting less extreme measures such as limiting Jewish access to government jobs and contracts and keeping Jews from areas and cities deemed to be “sensitive”.

 

Iranian Minister for Minority Matters, Chengez Jungistani agrees, suggesting that the one Jewish reserved seat in the Iranian Parliament, be taken away. “Our civilization is incompatible with Jews. These days, when Israel keeps threatening Iran, we do not know if the Jews are providing intelligence to Israel, that would hurt us.” He said. 

 

The above “news” is of course, a concoction of mine, it is absolutely untrue…Bogus!

Planting Prejudice In Our Defenders

Prejudice goes a long way. After it infects the primary person, it is passed on the others at the same level, to juniors and to other impressionable people, until very soon, its effects can be seen across the board

 

Prejudice is corrosive at all levels, it is bad when parents share their prejudice with their children who make it their own, it is bad when friends share their prejudice with each other and exercise it against others, but it is especially bad when it is shared in training of people who have the power of freedom or prison; life or death.

 

Prejudice travels best when it is unopposed and when it is disguised as beneficial to neighbors or, to society, thus causing irretrievable damage.

This is how genocidal movements get their energy and how they succeed; just ask Hitler, Milosevic, Habyarimana…ask anybody who is in the hate-business and they will share their prejudice, cloaked as a blessing to humanity. The justifications for spreading prejudice, almost always include the protection of the innocence of a society against an inexorable evil.

 

One unintended consequence of promoting prejudice is, that once unleashed, it becomes uncontrollable and attacks the originators and the spectators, just as easily as the targets.

The Germans who watched silently as Jews were marched off to death camps, soon found themselves rubbing shoulders with the same Jews in the same camps; the Sunni Muslims who stayed on the sidelines as extremist Sunnis bombed Shia gatherings, soon found themselves and their own loved ones also being targeted and victimized by the same fanatics.
