US Anti-Muslim Activities; Working With Congress

Below is the cover letter I sent to the members of the House Congressional Asia Pacific American Caucus, along with an overview of the documents that I included in the CD that went with the letter..

The plan is to get members of congress aware of the hostile climate created against Islam and Muslims with funding from the Federal Government and with luck, they will then start inquiries as to why our government should be so deeply involved in creating and promoting hate against their own citizens.

Muslims should be paying attention to the hate being cultivated against them and should be thinking of collective actions against such hate. tragically, what divides us (sectarianism and apathy) appears to be stronger than what should be bringing us closer (anti-Muslim hate-promotion). My trip to Lobby Congress

I went to Washington DC on the 26th to join a national Border Advocacy Day event on the 27th of February. I went under the auspices of One America who sent a delegation of four people, led by Ada Williams Prince, thanks are due to Arsalan Bukhari of CAIR, who proposed my name for the delegation.

Thoughts on “Muslims Were Less Violent In 2012”

A few days ago, some people sent out e-mails amongst Muslims, with a link to a WIRED magazine article headed, “Report: U.S. Muslim Terrorism Was Practically Nil in 2012“. Accompanying comments noted how Muslims were really not violent despite current perceptions. The e-mails did nothing to please me because I saw that the focus was still on us Muslims. To me it should not be a matter of note if Muslims were less violent than expected; a matter of general note should be the state of terrorism or, of violence across the board, without a “Muzlem” sub-category…and no other faith sub-category.

I wrote an article expressing these thoughts and got raked over coals for Continue reading

The Day after: Bomb-Threat to local Mosque

On October 16th 2012, I posted information about a bomb-threat to a local Mosque on my blog and how lightly it had been treated.

I take no pleasure in reporting further developments and more information that I have learned about what went on behind the scenes in the aftermath of that event.

To recap, someone e-mailed the following message to Zainab Center, a Muslim Mosque and community center in Lynnwood:

“Kindly move the f**k out of Lynnwood  before more bombs go off, please.”

The congregation, quite rightly, got worried and called the Lynnwood Police and the FBI and there the matter died.

What were Muslims in the area supposed to think? As most Muslims see it, since the targets were us “trrrsts” and since the authorities are being paid to nab us and not the nice “Judeo-Christian” members of this civilized nation, it should not be surprising that crimes against Muslims would not be treated with the same seriousness as crimes against other minorities, such as Blacks, Jews, etc.,

Weeks passed as we waited for some developments or, some updating from the Lynnwood Police or, from the FBI or, the local Prosecutor…or anyone, really.

It appeared that our protectors all believed the right thing had been done and there really was nothing to act upon and nobody to report to except for the people at the Zainab Center.

Finally, I started to make a few inquiries. Continue reading

America, a mockery of Democracy?

Your should take a few minutes to read the article, “Eleven Years On: Being Imprisoned at Guantanamo Worse Than Being Confined by Totalitarian State” at the end.

Some of you will experience a knee-jerk, protective reaction in favor of what the US is doing. There may even be some invitations aimed at me, to “Go back where I came from” if I don’t like it here. I AM here and this is my country as much as it is yours and even our collective “ownership” of this land is open to debate unless you happen to be a native, First-Nation person who has miraculously, survived the series of genocides perpetrated upon your peoples.

This country was created with proclamations of greatness which it failed to reach, even at its birth. The people who followed, continued to struggle (“Jihad“) to make this a better and better nation, with the rule of law, with equal protections and with the freedoms that follow as a result. In spite of its achievements towards human dignity, this country often had to be dragged to its greater heights, kicking and screaming, but it got there and the people were happier for it.

Today, it appears that we have taken several steps backwards. We have started to re-interpret our much-cherished Gold Standards of human dignity and human equality…the very foundation of our constitution, as being applicable only to select elites; the citizens of this country. Continue reading

Shutting down California campuses: Condemnation of Israel IS “Anti-Semitism”!

The Grand Reduct:

Screw Muslims and A-rabs and everyone else, let’s protect Jews and Israel!

That’s what the state of California is saying as they get organized to pass a resolution that will turn all school and college campuses into pro-Israel platforms where any speech criticizing Israel will be met with strict disciplinary action…how strict? Eleven Muslim students have been kicked out of UCLA for daring to call the speaking Israeli Ambassador, a liar AND they have been criminally charged for “disrupting” his speech.

It appears that the “Jewish Lobby” (which of course, does not exist!) is effecting a resolution of the California State Assembly that specifically targets anyone who should dare to criticize the state of Israel or its policies, as “Anti-Semitic”.

This action would be bad enough if it were limiting expressions against any minority, but it is specifically protecting Israel and Jews, which of course, leaves the field wide open for “experts” such as Daniel Pipes, Shoebat, Hirsi Ali, Emerson and all other Islamophobes have a clear field to whip up more and more anti-Islam, anti-Muslim fears among the youngest and most impressionable population of California; its students.
