The fun hasn’t even begun as the storm gathers around Muslims and perhaps, some minorities. The Trump Presidency offers great danger to Muslims ranging from what now seems almost benign Obama persecution of Muslims, to the outer limits of human imagination.
Yet, this is also a great opportunity for Muslims in which all our future generations can be protected.
Let us first review the Perils.
President Trump. Who would have thunk this could happen?
I have had a few people making contact with me, telling me to keep my mouth shut and my e-pen turned off, even someone very dear to me said so. I am not sure if even a dozen people read my thoughts, but shared with even them, it is a victory. Muslims…ALL of us, urgently need to bring awareness and resistance to the political bigots and their coward colleagues and kick them out of office if that is what it takes. ALL of us need to make sure our political leaders are hit with questions like, “What are you doing against bigotry in this country? If every year, the politicians signed on the NDAA whose Section 1021 directly targets Muslims for “detention” without trial or charges…forever… then they are doing nothing, nothing at all. When I read details of what is going on in Syria, it breaks my heart. I wonder about the heartlessness of a regime that drops barrel bombs filed with shrapnel, on crowded places. I wonder about the calculated cruelty, the so-called “strategic necessity” of supporting one side against another, that the US practices. Continue reading
Yes, we are almost on September 11, 2016. For those who may not be aware, this is the 15th anniversary of the 9-11 tragedy where about 3000 people were killed in suicide attacks on America. Yes, this is the day that comes every year, when America gets to rip its collective scab off the wound so it can relive the pain and bleed again and this is a day for grief.
France prides itself on its secularism, so much so that secularism has itself become the national religion (after Catholicism). Frances zeal in enforcing its “secularist standards” upon people seems to be targeted only at Muslims. They ban face and body covering burqas that Muslim women wear but they look on indulgently when the French come across a nun wearing a Habit or an Orthodox Christian or Jew wearing similar garb that also covers their heads and bodies. It is only when Muslim women wear their Hijab or Burqa, that the presumption of an oppressed woman is made.
Recently a friend expressed surprise when I mentioned that Obama holds weekly meetings at which he signs off on a “Kill List” of suspects…regardless of “Collateral Losses” (non-combatants, women, children). I conducted a search and came up with many links but I thought these three below, should be shared with all.
I was among the community members invited to a meeting with the Seattle Police (SPD…Chief O’Toole present), FBI and Fusion Center (FC…Director, Lt. Trowbridge present) on Tuesday the 3rd of May from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event was called, “Building Communities of Trust“, there were about six of us Muslims present, the rest were from other groups and communities. The purpose was to introduce and promote the Nationwide SAR (Suspicious Activity Reporting) Initiative also known as the NSI, among the various communities. Part of this program is also the “If you see something, say something” program. Continue reading
We need to speak up and speak out and we need to support the boycott against United…Loudly.

Since United Airlines removed an entire family for the crime of being Muslim, there have been THREE other incidents where Muslims have been removed from airlines for the crime of being Muslim. The latest was where a young man was removed because he dared to speak in Arabic to his family on his cell phone; the passenger in front of him said he believed the young man made threats to the flight in Arabic with words such as “Jihad” (which he said he never used) and “inshallah” (“God willing” which Muslims always use). “Why would you speak in Arabic on the airplane?” the employee asked… Continue reading
