Banned by FB; Hate against Jews and Muslims
Well, I was locked out of FB for three days because after the summary beheading of 37 people and further crucifixion of six, I associated the House of Saud and their followers with a certain animal that Muslims and Jews don’t eat but Christians do.
It is interesting that my comments were deemed “Hate-Speech” but people are left free to hurl all kinds of insults at Islam and Muslims.
Lesson learnt; don’t be too specific in things that can be misconstrued.
On the subject of hate; over the past few days we have had one man who drove his car into a group of people he thought, were Muslims. We have also had another person who decided to strike against Amerika’s interests by shooting up a Synagogue. Continue reading
When is it “Anti-Semitism”?
If this standard was demanded for a definition of Islamophobia, would YOU be okay with it?
“Islamophobia is a certain perception of Muslims, which may be expressed as hatred toward Muslims. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of Islamophobia are directed toward Muslim or non-Muslim individuals and/or their property, toward Muslim community institutions and religious facilities.”
Substitute “Jews” instead of “Muslims” and that is what Jewish organizations are demanding that all countries adopt as their legal definition for Anti-Semitism, thus criminalizing the so-defined, “anti-Semitic” behavior. The IHRA (International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance) definition of Anti-Semitism that was concocted in Bucharest on May 27th 2016. Ever since then, Jewish organizations have been strongly agitating to have this “definition” adopted on an international scale.
Now Britain has also caved to the intense pressure from Jewish communities and organizations and has adopted the so-called, “Internationally-recognized definition of Anti-Semitism”, The US, I am pretty sure, is next to adopt it. As a fig leaf that fools nobody, British Labour Party has allowed for a moderating clause that “approved” a statement which “…ensures this will not in any way undermine freedom of expression on Israel or the rights of Palestinians”. This is already drawing fire from British Jewish organizations and I expect it will not be long before this modification is erased. Continue reading
Embracing Anti-Semitism! Just what IS Anti-Semitism?
Anyone who hasn’t come across an accusation of Anti-Semitism against someone else, has not been living on this planet. As time flies by, such accusations are used more and more frequently and now this accusation of “Anti-Semitism” has become a tool to intimidate people, to form opinions and to change policy.
“Anti-Semitism” used to be an easily understood term, make an accusation across the board of “Jewish conspiracies”, of “Jews” undermining the world or “Jews” being greedy Shylocks or even hold ALL Jews responsible for the atrocities of Israel and it is fairly clear that underlying the statement is a promotion of hate or fear of Jews; that would be Anti-Semitism. Not that simple today. Continue reading
