Pakistan’s Dive into the Sewer of Religious Intolerance

The religious zeal and violence we see in Pakistan has nothing at all to do with religion, it is simply a function of manipulation of ignorant masses in order to get control of the country. It appears that even the leaders, the so-called “scholars of Islam” who whip up mass hysteria, do not understand the very basics of Islam. Often the very respected “religious scholars” themselves are too illiterate to even understand the local language, let alone the Arabic of the Quran. The most illustrative example of ignorance and illiteracy that drives fanaticism in Pakistan is the picture below. It is a recent demonstration led by a large sign that is supposed to declare, “Punishment for rudeness towards the prophet is beheading, beheading”. On the sign, however, they omitted a crucial accent which changed the meaning to read, “Rude prophet’s punishment is beheading, beheading”. It should have started with, “Gustakh-e-nabi…” but it was printed as “Gustakh nabi…”.

Tragically, even as we discuss Pakistan’s situation, we run the risk of being accused of “blasphemy”; no idle accusation for, it can carry a death sentence or, result in a lynching death before the trial takes place. Anything can be twisted such that it becomes an accusation of blasphemy in fact, simply an accusation without evidence, can result in a guilty verdict (or pretrial death) from judges who are terrified that THEY will be killed by some mob or, their families will be attacked by an ignorant public whipped into a murderous frenzy, justified by religion and led by “religious scholars”.

Can Deadly Have Humor?

As many know by now, a Christian Church bought an ad that was published by The Tennessean newspaper. The Ad said in part, “…on July 18, 2020, Islam is going to detonate a nuclear device in Nashville, Tennessee…”

This case hinges on the State Departments argument that they did not know about Ms. Muthana’s birth until AFTER she was  born and considered her to be covered by the exception to born a citizen rule until then:
“Ms. Muthana’s father, Ahmed Ali Muthana, was a United Nations diplomat from Yemen. Children of people with diplomatic immunity are not automatically granted citizenship despite being born in the United States. But Mr. Muthana was discharged from his diplomatic post shortly before she was born in 1994.
The United States government, however, said it was notified about that change in early 1995, after she was born, and stopped considering him covered by diplomatic immunity only then.”

Pretty persuasive argument BUT…facts become facts when they occur, they do not become facts only after someone has been notified of them. The US constitution is clear about her citizenship as was the US government because they issued her a US passport.

Intolerance for Muslims, what about intolerance BY Muslims?

Intolerance is everywhere, we cannot finish it off but we can and we must, stand against it wherever we are. I often rail against the US for its intolerance of Islam and Muslims and its targeting of Muslims inside and outside of the US; I rail against many European countries for the same reason. Arabia, commonly known by its misnomer “Saudi” Arabia is another country worthy of condemnation for its intolerance towards Shia and other Muslim sects and for its lethal intolerance for any un-approved behavior. I am also always taking a stand against Israel, the ultimate anti-Muslim country, for its genocide of the Palestinians.  For these expressions of outrage, I am variously called “Anti-American”, “Anti-West”, “Anti-Pakistan”, “Anti-Muslim” and of course, “Anti-Semitic”.

To its lasting shame, Pakistan stands in front among the ranks of the disgusting because of its carte blanche to its religious, ignorant, fanatics who have so much mass-appeal (of illiterate Pakistanis) that they can call thousands of people ready to destroy their own country just because their leader has told them that Islam/the prophet Mohammed must be defended.

The Rapid Growth of Islamic Fanatics

Once upon a time, there was peace in the world. Well, peace in so far as Mankind is capable of peace so, perhaps it would be better to rephrase that opening line by saying, “Once upon a time, the world was not in flames”. There were dictators who obeyed the Super-powers that brought the dictators to power and there were super-powers who fought covert wars between themselves, being careful to use proxy fighters and none of their own; such policies are protected by the Doctrine of Plausible Deniability where everyone knows what happened and who did it, but there are no red-handed representatives of the “other” to blame and thus, open war could be avoided.

 

So yes, once upon a time there was a relative peace of sorts, in this world. Dictators made sure they could stay in power and they did so with the help of the super-powers, chiefly the USA and the Soviet Union. The dictators had a little interest in helping their own tribal people, but only because that is where they could most be assured of loyalty and continue in power. If one group decided to start a hate-campaign against another on grounds of ethnic, religious or, sectarian lines, the dictator would squash that group until there were no more upstarts. Free speech was irrelevant but by and large, people were free to follow their desires as long as the Dictator’s boat was not rocked.

I detest ISIS and all other fanatics fighting as Muslims, whether they do so in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan or, anywhere else. These people think they are protecting and promoting Islam, by brutally killing anyone…Muslim or not…who does not subscribe to their own narrow belief system. They  are oppressive and their ways of killing are brutal. Psychopathic would perhaps be a better way of describing their behavior, because they kill without any thought.

“A fanatic is a man who does what he thinks God would do, if He knew the facts of the case“. So said Finley Peter Dunne, of the Chicago tribune.

 

Today, we have fanatics who know more than God does and therefore, do what God should be doing but does not. If it were not so serious, it would be funny that these fanatics are to be found in every faith, doing their evils in the name of God…the same God for all…but doing it to different people. That is the problem with fanatics, they do not understand their own religion as they should and the only cure they know for any transgression, is death.

 

Pakistani Dr. Mehdi Ali Qamar, living in Ohio, decided to go, as he did so often and work free for a week in Pakistan as a cardiologist, in order to help the poor. The hospital is run by Qadianis (Ahmedis) and even though it provides free medical aid to the poorest of the people, the Pakistan Fanatics Inc., has declared treatment at the hospital to be “Haram” forbidden. Dr. Qamar stopped at a cemetery to pray for his relatives who are buried there and as he was leaving, two men drove up in a motorbike and put ten bullets in him. Dr. Qamar died right there (Pickerington doctor killed by gunmen in Pakistan). He is survived by three children and his wife, he died for the ultimate crime of being an Ahmedi which is punishable by death, in Pakistan.

Why Do They Hate Us? Playing Soccer With Severed Heads

A few days ago, a friend sent me a link to a YouTube video that turned my stomach. It showed some Pathans (Pashtuns, Taliban, take your pick) with several severed heads that they displayed by holding them by the hair, then they dropped the heads and kicked them around like soccer balls, giggling and laughing as they did so.

My first reaction was of utter disgust, I turned it off. Then I replayed it and paused it at different points and thought about it and suddenly I no longer saw animals, fanatical brutes doing inhuman things to their victims, I saw something entirely different; I saw a worldwide problem that gives life to such.

The people holding the severed heads were no older than children, they giggled in a childish way when they kicked the heads around…they WERE  children! These children were doing horrific things, probably shutting their minds to the reality of what they were doing, but doing them in order to be “In”, to belong to their group, rather than to risk being “Out”. The scene was not much different from a school bullying scene where the bullies do the bad things, a few kids join them to be among the ‘in” crowd and others remain silent because they do not wish to stand out or, to be rejected. The fact that they were Muslim, had nothing to do with the matter, they had been manipulated and controlled by the fanatics, they were no different from the child soldiers of Congo, Liberia, Angola and Uganda for whom the entire “Civilized” world shows compassion and care and whom the entire “Civilized” world wants to reform and rehabilitate. But these were kids that the entire “Civilized” world wants to kill in any way they can, utilizing Drones, special Forces and even the armed forces of the host nations (Pakistan, Afghanistan etc.,) to slaughter them with impunity…”in order to keep the world safe” they say.

How did these children come to such a state of affairs and what can be done for them?

Here we go again…the inevitable “Muzlem Trrrrrsts!”

The week opened on Monday the 25th to another spine-chilling story of “Muzlems“, getting ready to kill masses of Freedom-loving Americans and I groaned for the umpteenth time!

Our ever-vigilant FBI has, it appears, conducted over a hundred investigations into Islamic extremists in the military…our military, can you imagine that? Er, sorry, that is suspected Islamic extremists in the military. There is a difference, you see. REAL extremists can be brought to trial and jailed, but suspected ones, simply get their lives destroyed with an investigation that might as well hang them afterwards; REAL Muslim extremists are hard to find, while suspected ones are everywhere!
The FBI’s attitude towards Islam and Muslims goes back to their training in which their focus was drawn to the fact that there were over 9000 (murderous) Muslims in the military. The FBI has been trained to target Islam, not terrorism.
