The House of Saud has co-opted a number of countries into giving support for its destruction of Houthis, who practice Zaidi school of Shia Islam and who are rejected by the Saudis as heretics. The House of Saud is appearing to bring back the corrupted and ineffective Yemeni (Sunni) leader, who escaped to Arabia after he faced being deposed by the Houthis.
The House of Saud’s “Coalition of the Willing” includes the Gulf states, (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE), it also includes Jordan and Egypt and efforts are being made to bring in Pakistan as well; Already, Pakistan’s highly trained vets (mercenaries) form the backbones of the militaries of Jordan and all the Gulf countries. Other unadvertised allies of the Saudis, fighting actively against the Houthis, are Al-Qaeda (AQAP) and ISIS (both sworn to destroy America), the latter already taking control of several towns in Aden.
This, against the total estimate of about 100,000 Houthi fighters, spread all over Yemen.
In some ways, ISIS should be admired. They have clear goals, they want to take over all the M-E and then go for the rest of the world. They want to destroy everything that does not comport with their version of Islam and they want to kill everyone who is not a part of their misguided faith and that particularly includes America.
We can all agree ISIS are vile, despicable examples of humanity, but we also have to admire their clarity of thought.
American on the other hand, says so many things from so many sides of its collective mouth, that no clear policy can ever come out of DC. America hates Al-Qaeda and its further-to-the-right off-shoot, Al-Nusra and will do everything to destroy them. The US is also completely against ISIS and wants to destroy them. The US wants to be trusted by its Muslim citizens who should feel considered and protected, by its agencies.
That’s the America P-R, the American reality is quite different and beyond comprehension of any but the invisible puppet-masters who direct US policy. As anyone can figure, the policies are driven by the moneyed folk because even our Supreme Court has allowed corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money for political campaigns…so who is the politician going to listen to?
The latest story of the American snake eating its own tail is located in the Arabia Peninsula.
After a lot of planning and promoting The Partition Archive
event finally came on Saturday, the 4th of April at the UW (thanks to the Jackson School for sponsoring the venue), the 200-chair room was over-full.
The event itself was a little different from what I had expected, but it was powerful nevertheless. There was a panel of three witnesses/survivors and one archivist and their stories were so powerful that at one time, I had to walk to the back of the room because the tears had started to flow. Many others were also openly crying, as was one of the presenters. Each one of them had a completely different experience but they all had terrible and frightening experiences ranging from relatively easy ones, to tragic one with a loss of many family members.
Their presentation was followed up by a Q&A session in which people talked about their own memories and family stories, one young man was so frustrated and angry about the experiences of his own family that he wanted to know more; he wanted to know WHO started the violence, WHO allowed it to happen, he wanted to know “Who should be held to blame”! Obviously, the answer is never easy or, even available.
Who was to blame?
We could blame the local leaders who fired up the populations into a frenzy of killing (hundreds of thousands of people were slaughtered during the Independence period). We could blame the leaders of Muslim League and Congress who did not come to agreement in such a way that India could have stayed together as one country and there would not have been any bloodshed.
It would be easy to blame Indian Congress Party which held a 95% support in India and who decided they did not want to negotiate anything with Muslim League that held less than 3% support and so they denied Muslims any protective parliamentary positions. Congress Party did not understand that their 95%+ representation was because of their anti-BRITISH position, not because of their Hindu-Muslim relationship, which was pretty much at zero. They did not grasp that once the common enemy (the British) disappeared, Muslims would not support a solidly-Hindu party. Congress’ rejection of proposals by Muslim League, demanding reserved seats in Parliament for Muslims and a percentage of Cabinet seats, caused Muslims to decide that the only way to survive, was to have a separate country in which Muslim rights would be preserved.
Here it would be important to note that the creation of Pakistan was to preserve rights for Muslims, with non-Muslims living as EQUAL citizens. Pakistan failed in its birth promise and has given way to rule of fanatical bullies who have no concern for God, Islam or Humanity, only for their own greed and power.
The blame, if one can hold someone to blame, rests entirely upon the British.
George W Bush famously and idiotically, asked the question, “Why do they hate us?”, meaning of course, why do Muslims have so much resentment towards the US and Europe?
Only someone sitting in the comfortable position of a privileged majority would ask such a question and would fail to understand how Muslims across the world, feel themselves targeted, persecuted and thoughtlessly slaughtered, directly or indirectly, by the United States and its European “allies”—The “Coalition of the Willing to Kill at America’s Bidding”.
Of course, hardly any Muslim takes matters to a violent head, but that does not mean that the sentiment is not shared by almost every Muslim. On the other hand, there are so many “experts” on Islam, Muslims and “Terrorism”, that one is left gasping, just to think about them all. Prominently included among these Muslim-bashers, are politicians and law-enforcement agencies such as Police, FBI and all the other alphabet-soup agencies that exist to “protect” America and whose very budgets and existence, depend on how many Muslim scalps they have, hanging on their doorways. As this is happening, America nods its collective heads with dramatic sorrow and says, ” it is a sad, but necessary sacrifice, to keep us all protected”. I am sure the high priests of the Aztecs and Mayans, who sacrificed thousands of their own (virgins) to their gods, must have said the same thing.
Rape, what a horrible thing to happen to anyone and how awful it is that it happens as often as it does. Whenever we hear about rape, the reactions are inevitably mixed and depend on where it happens, to whom and whose “side” we are on at the time, as if rape is made better or worse because of which “side” to victim or the perpetrator may be on.
Generally, when we think of “Rape”, we think of a man, sexually attacking a woman and usually, this is how it happens. But rape takes many forms, some such that it is easy to hide behind excuses, but when one looks at the facts, it become clear that it was indeed, rape. The difficult part is not that rape happened, the difficult part is often that society refuses to acknowledge rape happened.
Rape can happen when a child is made to have sex with an adult, it is called statutory rape in the US. Rape can also happen when the man is in a powerful position and the woman is or, feels that she is, in a helpless position and dependent on the man. until recently, Washington state allowed “consensual sex” between prison guards and female prisoners, completely ignoring the fact that if a prisoner refused to have sex with the guard, her life in prison, would become more of a Hell than she could ever imagine; it was rape, but excused and allowed, as “consensual sex” by the guards and by the authorities who were predisposed to support their uniformed brother.
The names in the following story are fictional, but the details are tragically, not. Sadly, the following story is all-too true for people from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
By now, I’ll bet every Muslim has heard the bigotry-loaded term, “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all Terrorists are Muslim“, it just dawned on me that this saying is absolutely RIGHT!!!
When the only “terrorists” one wishes to recognize, are Muslim, then of course, all terrorists are going to be Muslim; QED.
The story below was forwarded to me by a friend, it shows how an act of violence or a threat by a non-Muslim is waved off as “stupid”, “deranged” or even “an isolated incident” and essentially, “Unrelated to terrorist groups”, while the same act, committed by Muslim brings to trial, said Muslim, his family, his friends, his Mosque and his faith, as one, broad conspiracy, driven by the Quran and the prophet Mohammed. Naturally, since the perpetrator below, is not Muslim, he is automatically not a “terrorist”, but off his rocker. Every week, I get “The TSA Blog
“, a weekly report that details all the firearms and explosives that people try to get through an airport…the ones who get caught! Did anyone in Seattle know there were two incidents in February, where people got caught at Sea-Tac airport, one with a 9 mm gun and one with a .45? No, I didn’t either. Who’s betting they were Muslim? you’d lose.
Now for my never-ending chant: These attitudes against Islam and Muslims are ONLY possible because we Muslims cannot get past our parochial and sectarian, (Takfiri) differences and because even the best of us cannot be bothered enough to work together and use our massive political clout. we like to work “behind the scenes” with “calm discussion”, to “engage”, politicians and law enforcement. We don’t like to appear to be “aggressive” or “Controversial”.
I am sharply reminded of this because just yesterday, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, during his visit to the US, THANKED US service men and women, for their “sacrifices”.
No mention at all, of how it was the US, that completely destroyed Afghanistan, slaughtered possibly hundreds of thousands of Afghanis, maimed probably forty-fifty times more and is now marching out of the country, leaving it in total, violent, anarchy. The same, by the way, has been done to Iraq.
I have been most distressed by the mayhem being perpetrated in our name by our brothers.
It also bothers me that the West continues to say how much they would like to stop ISIS and other extremist thinking (among Muslims, of course!). The US held a national “CVE” (Countering Violent Extremism) summit
in which the President makes a great show of distinguishing between “good” Muslims and violent ones…but Muslims, nevertheless. The concern is always about how to stop Muslim
kids from going the violent way, never about Christians or Jews who also go the violent way.
The US and the West continues to ignore and even to support, the greatest promoters and supporters of Muslim intolerance; Arabia and Qatar. I suppose, it is easier and panders more to the electorate, when Muslims are targeted right here, “irregardless” of their guilt or innocence; usually their innocence!
Three young Muslims got shot execution style
(through the head) by a man who obviously hates Muslims and the Police is bending over backwards to say it was “an incident over parking”. Caitlin Durkovic, Assistant Secretary at Homeland Security, sent a general letter to Muslims about the murders, but she could only squeeze out the term “a senseless act of violence”.
One of our own local Muslim woman was harassed at a QFC parking lot, her car was spat on and sausage was smeared over her can and the responding Police officers could only say it was a “suspicious circumstances” incident.
Bomb-threat to local Muslim center
? FBI and the Lynnwood Police say he didn’t mean it. Apart from asking the man whether he meant to bomb the center, they did not even bother to investigate further when he said “uh, nooooo”.
Among all this violence I was MOST impressed by India.
An Indian fellow was visiting his son in Alabama (where else?) and was taking a walk when the Police stopped him. Not understanding what they wanted, he continued walking at which point, one of the officers grabbed him and threw him to the ground so violently that it broke his spine and he is paralyzed.
India took it on as their own cause
and within a couple of days the Chief of Police made a public apology to India, to the victim and to his family and the officer has been arrested.
I don’t know of any Muslim-majority country that would have the guts to take a stand on behalf of their citizen, in fact these countries actually arrest, torture and even kill, their own citizens at the suggestion from the US.
I suppose, Muslim-majority countries should not be blamed because we Muslims take no note of such events, whether they are in a Muslim-majority country or, right here in the US. The tragic fact the we Muslims continue to ignore, remains, that unless we care enough to work together and make our leaders take note, such excesses against Muslims will continue and get worse.
We Muslims have a long way to go…
If the author of The Atlantic Monthly article,” What ISIS Really Wants“, wanted to smear Islam and Muslims, he could not have done a better job. Picking a self-promoting Islamophobe like Bernard Haykel (“the foremost secular authority on the Islamic State’s ideology“) as his source of information helps to make naive readers believe in what Wood and Haykel wanted to promote; a deep suspicion of Islam and Muslims and that Muslims are only doing in ISIS, what they are rooted to do in faith.
If The Atlantic Monthly had done even a few basic fact-checks of this “article”, they would have found enough holes in it, to make a sieve proud. I guess the usual budget cuts, must have done away with their fact-checking department as well.

Re: “What ISIS Really Wants” in their March 2015 issue.
“What ISIS Really Wants” (Graeme Wood. Atlantic, March 2015) might have been a most interesting article, but the author appears to have gotten carried away by his own theories, did anyone do fact-checks on the article? Continue reading
Dear editors of USA Today,
I only saw your “ALLAH AKBAR, BABY!” “Cartoon”
this evening and immediately felt compelled to write…even though I am pretty sure the reactions will be a chorus of derisive guffaws as you plan your next “Target Islam” move.
In every field of study, scholars serve a vital function, they help us understand the problems and how to resolve questions, they help us learn about the subject with help of their deep knowledge and they help lead us to higher levels of understanding.
But scholars can be wrong; they often have been and many, still are. There was a time when scholars said the speed of sound was the ultimate barrier; one could not go any faster. Before that, there were teams of scholars who said the Earth was flat, there were scholars who said the Earth was the center around which the universe revolved and it was not so long ago, when scholars said the limits of computing had been reached. The Genocide of the American Indian, the Aborigines of Australia and the White rules in Southern Africa, were all justified as Divine Mandate emanating from the Bible. Jews, Hindus, Shinto, no faith is immune from intolerant, extremist, religious scholars who promote and sanctify violence against “the other”.
In Islam too, as in all other faiths, there have been many scholars who insisted that theirs was the only valid point and anyone who disagreed, was not only wrong, but served the devil because he was spreading doubt about Islam. Continue reading
