Although I personally believe ISIS is evil, evil itself, has never been a standard for the US or for the West, to wage war on anyone, we all know that the US is fighting ISIS because ISIS is against the US, otherwise, “we could do business with ISIS“. History is full of incredibly EVIL leaders that the US and Western empires have place at the necks of people in order to strengthen their own control, we ourselves, are not innocent of much brutality…in the past and now.
Aside from the photo-op brutality of a beheading, what is the difference between a beheading done by ISIS and the over two MILLION people killed directly and indirectly, by US action in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan since 1991?
Is our killing of civilians and suspects, from Pakistan to Libya, any more humane?
Is our creation of the DIME bombs a better way to kill? Are we better than ISIS when we give DIME bombs to Israel who then uses them in Gaza?
What about the hundreds of thousands of tons of DNA destroying Depleted Uranium (DU) bombs that we have used and left the debris spread all over from Kosovo to Pakistan?
Although the US government is unwilling to admit to lasting effects of DU (half-life of 4 million years!), it has issued a health advisory for US soldiers who may have been exposed to DU and its micro-particles. Here are some excerpts of that advisory:
- The process of manufacturing enriched uranium from natural uranium used in nuclear reactors or weapons leaves “depleted” uranium. DU has 40 percent less radioactivity, but the same chemical toxicity as natural uranium.
….In addition to DU in wounds, soldiers exposed to DU in struck vehicles may inhale or swallow small airborne DU particles.
- …..entering or near burning vehicles; near fires involving DU munitions; or salvaging damaged vehicles
The incidence of still births and birth deformities in Iraq has gone up by several thousand percent.
The only saving grace in fighting ISIS, is the fact that ISIS is an evil that we can all hate for their enforcement of brutal measures against everyone. But please, spare me the niceties and the grandiose, righteous proclamations, that we are fighting ISIS because ISIS is particularly evil, just get on with the job.
