"To comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable"

America, where only citizens are human?

PLEASE call your Senators and your House Representatives and TELL them to oppose the entire Defense Authorization Bill until the bigots remove the sections that permit the military to indefinitely hold ANYONE, without charges, without civilian trial.

Some people make things happen…some people talk about things that happened…some people wonder what happened.
Which one are you?

As citizens, we are at a point in our history where our silence or our voices, can determine whether this country is destined for great advances or it is destined for great tragedies; our constitution is in as great a danger as it has ever been and it is up to YOU to decide which.

Gag the Constitution of the United States?
Shred it?
Make it applicable only to a chosen few as during the Slavery period?

Back in 1775, Samuel Johnson said, “Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel”. Today, scoundrels all over are desperately looking to disguise their anti-Muslim bigotry behind the façade of “Patriotism”. They are treating Muslims as “incompatible with the Judeo-Christian Civilization”, they are saying Muslims live to kill the non-Muslim, that Muslims will not rest until they destroy America.

Now we approach the “Final Solution”; make it legal (Bills: House HR. 1547 and Senate S. 1867) for Muslims to be identified and imprisoned (“detained”) indefinitely, without trial, under Military jurisdiction for as long as this insane “War!” on “Terror” lasts. Since there is no defined “enemy”, no country where the “enemy” is contained, we are essentially, looking at a forever prison term…with or without, a military kangaroo trial…at the whim of any official bigot who so desires.
This should not be a surprise to anyone who is aware that we still imprison some Muslims since the post-9/11 Roundup of Muslims but it should galvanize us into action.

During King George the Worst regime, we saw THOUSANDS of Muslims being imprisoned all across America, without charges or trials. We saw targeting and persecution of Muslims and the trend was going to worse. When Obama came to office, we exhaled, believing these trends against human rights and against the constitution, will abate and end, but we were wrong!

Arbitrary imprisonment of Muslims in America has come to a virtual stop, but nothing else appears to have changed and some things have become worse!

Persecution of Muslims has taken a sharper edge, although Congress has a large hand in this because of their anti-Muslim bigotry. Obama has actually INCREASED Drone attacks on people in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He ordered the murder of US citizens without regard to constitutionally-guaranteed Due Process and the institutionalized persecution of Muslims has become more entrenched in the past three years.

As a Muslim and as an Elector from WA state, for Obama in 2008, I am DEEPLY disappointed.

Tragically, it CAN get worse… Republican Party can win the House, the Senate and the White House.

The Republican Party has nailed its colors to the mast of anti-Muslim bigotry. Republican Party local offices have been actively promoting anti-Muslim hysteria, their leaders have made anti-Muslim rhetoric, part of the acid-test for any aspiring leader (just look at the stuff the Republican Presidential candidates have been saying about Muslims and Islam) and now, Republicans are pushing a bill that will take away ALL the Due Process protections afforded by the constitution. Not only that, the US constitution is now being interpreted to apply to US citizens ONLY!!

Anti-“terrorism” bills are being prepared such that they target Muslims only, where the Military is required to “detain” indefinitely and try in a system designed for Muslim accused or “suspected” of “Terrorism”…forever! Stuck as “minor” amendments to the Defense Appropriations Bill so that it cannot be vetoed without vetoing the ENTIRE Defense Budget are things like the following:
  • House HR. 1547 Defense Authorization Bill Subtitle D: Counterterrorism – (Sec. 1031) Defines for purposes of this subtitle an “individual detained at Guantanamo” as any individual located at U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, on or after March 7, 2011, who: (1) is not a citizen of the United States or a member of its Armed Forces, and (2) is in the custody or control of DOD.
(Sec. 1034) Affirms that the United States is in an armed conflict with al Qaeda, the Taliban, and associated forces, and that the President is authorized to detain unprivileged enemy belligerents in connection with such conflict until the termination of hostilities.
(Sec. 1034) Affirms that the United States is in an armed conflict with al Qaeda, the Taliban, and associated forces, and that the President is authorized to detain unprivileged enemy belligerents in connection with such conflict until the termination of hostilities. (Jeff’s note: these people…Uighurs, were deemed innocent even by our military kangaroo courts).
(Sec. 1046) Requires trial by military commission only for any foreign national (Jeff’s note: This includes ALL Green-Card holders) who: (1) engages or has engaged in conduct constituting an offense related to a terrorist attack against persons or property in the United States or against any U.S. government property or personnel outside the United States, and (2) is subject to trial by military commission under the UCMJ. (Jeff’s note: Want to bet this will only be enforced against “Muzlems?”).
  • Senate Defense Authorization Bill S. 1867 (passed 93 to 7)Subtitle D–Detainee Matters

SEC. 1031. AFFIRMATION OF AUTHORITY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES TO DETAIN COVERED PERSONS PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE.

    (a) In General- Congress affirms that the authority of the President to use all necessary and appropriate force pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107-40) includes the authority for the Armed Forces of the United States to detain covered persons (as defined in subsection (b)) pending disposition under the law of war.(b) Covered Persons- A covered person under this section is

any person (Jeff’s note: Later on, exempts US citizens and lawful resident aliens

) as follows:(1) A person who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored those responsible for those attacks.(2) A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces.(1

Detention under the law of war without trial until the end of the hostilities

authorized by the Authorization for Use of Military Force.
Bottom-line: With the ratcheting up of anti-Muslim hysteria, led by members of the Republican Party, it is entirely reasonable to assume that should the Republican Party prevail in the 2012 elections, Muslims in America are in for unprecedented persecution.

So, should Muslims and people of good will be supporting the re-election of a regime that is best known for its dithering ineffectiveness or should we be voting to bring in the Party goose-stepping towards the persecution of Muslims?

With a choice like this, I HAVE to support the Democratic ticket.

In the meantime, PLEASE call your Senators and your House Representatives and TELL them to oppose the entire Defense Authorization Bill until the bigots remove the sections that permit the military to indefinitely hold ANYONE, without charges, without civilian trial.

If America is to remain the Land of the Free, it must be the Land of the Free for EVERYBODY, not create a sub-human category that can then be heaped with all sorts of dehumanizing treatment and for whom the constitution is gagged.

PLEASE call now
