"To comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable"

US, Israel, Iran, Turkey and Pakistan

Like the lone child, is Turkey finally learning to point out that the Emperor and his Pit Bull have no clothes?!!?

It would appear that Turkey is no longer seeing Iran as a threat to Turkey rather, as a friend. Turkey is also becoming more assertive about telling Israel that its heavy hand on and slaughter of Palestinians is unacceptable.
To top that, Ha’aretz reports that Turkey’s Prime Minister Receb Tayyip Erdogan has told The Guardian that Avigdor Lieberman threatened to use nuclear weapons on Gaza. Interestingly, even the respected Guardian did not care to explore that statement by Erdogan, relegating it to a mere two lines…why even bother to report it?

Still, it has the Western media (and probably the politicians as well) so flustered that questions are cropping up; “is Turkey going Islamist on us?”…written of course, by pandering “experts” who quite likely, just want to see their own names being recited on the Hill.

What blatant hypocrisy! On one hand, we have Ahmedinejad who quotes Imam Khomeini as saying something to the effect, “Just as the White S. African regime was wiped off the face of the Earth, so too must the Israeli regime be wiped off the face of the Earth”…quoting someone else and not an offensive quote at that! The Blindly pro-Israeli Lobby twists that into a statement directly from Ahmedinejad saying he will wipe Israel off the face of the Earth, their dupes swallow it and the world goes aflame with hysteria (“lets get Iran!”).
On the other hand, our friend Avi says Gaza should be nuked (…back in 2002 US politicians openly said Afghanistan and Iraq should be turned into glass) and our media and politicians’ best efforts go into burying those comments; the focus MUST remain on the existential threat to Israel, not on the existential threats BY Israel.

On one hand, one wishes that countries like Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and Arabia should also become infected with the virus of standing up for justice and humanity, but that would mean standing up against Israel and THAT would mean bucking Rome! Can’t have that.
These countries are led by opportunistic, selfish tyrants who sometimes pretend to be “democratic”, but are only concerned with stealing as much money as they can in as short a time as they can. The US and the West keep moaning about how corrupt the leaders of these countries are, but fail to follow up by having national policies that would trigger an investigation regarding the provenance of money whenever there is a transfer to any Western country, of over $5,000.
On one hand, the US is fanatical about money transfers, suggesting in their peaks of paranoia, that transfers of as little as $50 to someone in a “Muzlem” country, could mean it is being sent to help the all-powerful and all-evil “Muzlem trrsts”! on the other hand genocidal, megalomaniacal tyrants steal hundreds of millions of dollars from the desperately poor people of their countries and deposit them in Europe and the US with nary a blink from the host nations; the same US that forces foreign banks to disclose names of their US depositors, are extremely guarded about the foreign generals and the politicians who make massive and unaccountable deposits from their home countries to banks in the US and the West.

I could not believe my ears when I heard today that Hillary went to Pakistan and said to senior editors of Pakistan’s newspapers:

‘Al Qaeda has had safe haven in Pakistan since 2002,’ Clinton told senior Pakistani newspaper editors in the country’s cultural capital, Lahore.

‘I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are and couldn’t get them if they really wanted to,’ she added.

…in effect, calling the Pakistani leaders liars in public…this was a goodwill tour?!
While I would never vouch for the honesty of any of today’s top-leadership in Pakistan, I am shocked at the insult that was delivered to them…to Pakistan and I understand that the more it changes, the more it remains the same: US leaders go to Pakistan to kick their leaders on their hindquarters and then go to India to kiss their leaders on their hindquarters!
