Congratulations to us all.
Washington State Gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee has signed to pledge (see copy reproduced below) that ALL people under American jurisdiction have the same right to equal protection under the constitution, including Arabs and Muslims.
He has further promised that he will publicly oppose any act or statement Read more »
Or, why Muslims need to wake up…
A lot of people have told me to “tone it down”, not sound so “anti-American” and asked me why I hate America so much that I keep criticizing it and if I do hate America so much, why don’t I “go back where I came from”? I have even been accused of supporting and inciting terrorism (but when I consider the source and intelligence of those criticisms, I suppose I shouldn’t mind too much).
Maybe I AM imagining that the US is geared up to target Muslims and maybe things are not so bad after all.
The again, maybe the Tooth Fairy is leaving gold coins in exchange for teeth these days too.
Let us look objectively and see where the results take us, shall we? Read more »
I published a story, “Detroit Muslims force women to sit in the back of buses” a few days ago, it was not correct, I had in fact, changed a few words that then affected the perspective of the story in a different manner. The actual headline was: “At Front of Brooklyn Bus, a Clash of Religious and Women’s Rights” from a New York Times story and it was about the use of a private, but publicly-funded busline for the Orthodox Jewish Community of Brooklyn.
My motivations for sending out the changed story were to find out how people (Muslims and non-Muslims) would react to Muslims doing such a thing and how differently this story would be viewed BECAUSE
Muslims were thought to be doing such a thing in this land of “Freedom and Democracy”. My point was Read more »
US exceptionalism (the same rules do not apply to us) is no secret, here is a personal experience of a Pakistani diplomat in the US.
I am personally aware of one case where FBI Agent Richard Conti tried to bully and intimidate a friend of mine in Seattle, to “give up” names of “terrorists” and “terrorist sympathizers” from the mosque that my friend goes to and when my friend protested that he did not know any, Agent Conte swore at him and asked him how it was possible that my friend had been going to his Mosque for over a dozen years and did not know of ANY terrorists?
Agent Conte then gave my friend three days to give him names or Agent Conte would shut down my friend’s business, bring the IRS down on him and “really make trouble” for him.
My friend contacted me and I was able to meet the then-US Atorney John McKay, who ordered Agent Conte to back off.
About a year later, I was reviewing this case with a high-ranking FBI agent who dismissively told me that Agent Conte’s behavior was not illegal.
Perhaps not, but it was highly immoral and VERY unethical. Plus, any names my friend would give him after being forced to do so, would be innocent people, just like the names forced out during the McCarthy anti-Communist witch-hunts.

America Today…Living Hypocrisy
The title itself is enough to get the REAL Americans to get their guns and growl at these “Muzlems” who are just itching to destroy “our way of life”; few will start thinking about what it could mean, some will read this essay just so they can dismiss the writer (me) as a crazy who has no idea of what REAL FREEDOM means and the many sacrifices that are necessary to preserve this hard-earned “FREEDOM”.
There is a lot of mythology around what America is and what it stands for. The tragedy is that for a brief period in our history America may have meant all the things we seek to hold dear and all the things we glorify as representing these great United States. But that period of nirvana was far to brief to be recorded properly as representing America; for the past century, we have been living one life, while holding up a different persona to glorify and people have not dared to say that the Empire has no clothes for fear of being condemned as traitors who don’t deserve to enjoy what we serve up to the people.
This is a New Year’s message to my fellow Americans and to America, it is not meant to dredge up past history, the past Century or, what we have been doing with our foreign policy; this message is meant to discuss what is happening NOW, over the past ten years and how America is accelerating towards a totalitarian regime that could remind us of the Soviet Bloc countries. I keep telling people we are in 1938 Germany and if all of us do not ACT and fast, the next few years might well become some of the darkest pages of American history.
Below is a review of a book that is about to be released. Substitute just a few words and reality of today is revealed in stark contrast.
American Media are colluding with the so-called “conservatives” and the so-called “Right wing” when everyone who uses their brain, knows these fear-mongers are neither, but are self-promoting opportunists…just as history tells us, were in The Fatherland. Read more »
Finally, after a gap of seven years, I made plans to go to Pakistan! I had long decided to not even think of going to Pakistan unless I could go for at least 4-6 weeks, but an opportunity presented itself that permitted that allowed me to go for only 16 days; it did not take long for me to decide that even though it was the peak of Summer and the time was extremely brief (for me), I would still go. With temperatures ranging from 40-44C (112-120F), I was assured by my family that I would die there; my response was that as long as I had one mango in each hand and one in my mouth, I would die happy. Pakistan’s former President and military ruler, Gen. Pervez Musharraf visited Seattle on invitation of World Affairs council and came to Seattle (Bellevue) on Sunday night as a special guest of the Pakistan Association at a $100 a plate dinner ($1000 per plate if you sat at the special front tables).
I decided to attend at the last minute amid lots of controversy; there were people accusing Musharraf of major human rights violations and there were people who were glowing in their praise for him. Read more »
Nothing great is ever achieved by taking shy, hesitant steps…backwards.
Like so many visionary leaders in the past, President Obama also started with a great idea, but he allowed politicians to lead. First the Democrats made their sausage, making sure their patrons and paymasters, the healthcare industry are well-protected. Then the Republicans came in saw there there may be a few small, leftover sacred cows still unprotected and they stuck their daggers in the body of whatever healthcare plan had been cobbled together by the Democrats.
