With great fanfare, Republican House Representative from New York’s 3rd Congressional District, Peter King, who is also the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, convened a hearing with the title: “The Extent of Radicalization in the American Muslim Community and That Community’s Response.”.

Republican Representative Peter King at the "Hearings"
There are so many ironies in this entire charade that we could all die laughing, if it were not so deathly serious.
Rep. King is the same man who was an ardent and activist supporter of the terrorist Irish Republican Army, so much so, that when he was the Grand Marshall leading a St Patrick’s Day parade in New York,
the Irish Republic refused to join the parade, as had been the tradition, citing King’s terrorist sympathies and work for the IRA.
Referring to the civilian killings by the IRA in Northern Ireland,
King said at the time, “
If civilians are killed in an attack on a military installation, it is certainly regrettable, but I will not morally blame the IRA for it“.
As recently as the 2010 elections, Peter King’s political opponent in the Congressional race,
called King “A Terrorist Collaborator“, citing his support for the IRA. It is a shameful commentary on the electorate, that King still won.

The bottom line in the Raymond Davis case is that Pakistan has no authority to hold or prosecute Raymond Davis; everything else is mere discussion…but what a lot of discussion there is to be had!
Raymond Davis was travelling in a dense, old part of the center of Lahore, in a rented car (with Pakistani driver) with Pakistani license plates. Along the way, he was accosted by two people whom he shot and killed, stating that he was feeling “threatened” for his safety and that they were trying to rob him.

Breaking news from Iran:
Iranian government is planning to investigate Iranian Jews for their loyalty to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“Iranian Jews are not really Persian, they are foreigners who settled here many years ago” said Parliamentarian Farhad Bewaquf. “The Shah catered to them because of America and Israel and he placed them in high positions. But now that we have an Islamic government, we know that the loyalty of Jews in this country is doubtful, I cannot believe that they would consider themselves as Iranians__ they are all Zionists!“.
Hostile Iranian leaders are calling for the expulsion of all Jews and the imprisonment of those suspected of spying for Israel. The Ahmedinejad government is trying to pacify the leaders by suggesting less extreme measures such as limiting Jewish access to government jobs and contracts and keeping Jews from areas and cities deemed to be “sensitive”.
Iranian Minister for Minority Matters, Chengez Jungistani agrees, suggesting that the one Jewish reserved seat in the Iranian Parliament, be taken away. “Our civilization is incompatible with Jews. These days, when Israel keeps threatening Iran, we do not know if the Jews are providing intelligence to Israel, that would hurt us.” He said.
The above “news” is of course, a concoction of mine, it is absolutely untrue…Bogus!
What were your reactions, as you read the “News”?

As Egypt struggles against the tyranny of over 50 years…well over 50 years under Mubarak, Sadaat and Nasser…the West (USA) is looking apprehensively.
While the empty slogans of “Freedom”, “Democracy”, “Free Speech” are pattered ad nauseum by all from the President of the United States down to the Republican Guards and echoed by the spineless gallery of the Democrats, nobody in their right minds envision those slogans to apply to the unwashed of the world…they can hardly tolerate them to be applied right HERE, in this great bastion of hypocrisy (er, I mean, Democracy).
Not wishing to be caught speechless, our Secretary of State, madam Hillary Clinton has forced herself to support the idea that democracy should prevail in Egypt…after “an orderly transition”…maybe meaning, another hundred years.
Egypt after all, is hardly like Tunisia; Egypt is the great stronghold against Arabs and Palestinians and a “strong partner in peace with Israel”….oh, yes, Israel! People are having heartburns in Israel and they are forcing their public into believing that if Egypt “falls”, the end of Time for Israel, is at hand…here come the cattle-cars and there fire the ovens!!!

Women have been held hostage to a sense of “honor” all over the world, they have been placed on high pedestals to symbolize glory, honor, freedom…purity, chastity, refuge; so much has been placed on the collective shoulders of womanhood, that it is impossible for women to survive as free beings in the way men do. In itself, this may not be such a burden except that transgressions of the “virtues” women are presumed to represent, often leads to savage deaths of either the people (men) involved in such “transgressions” or, of the women themselves.
Wars have been fought over women and women are also the first victims of wars; they are the “collateral losses” when houses are bombed into oblivion, in order to kill “suspects”, they are the victims of rapes and sexual exploitation during and after wars and occupation. Seldom though, is there any discussion of the miseries of the abducted and raped women; seldom mentioned by the side of the perpetrators and seldom acknowledged by the victims’ people…”terrible things happened” is all that shows up in pages of history.
US, Germany, Russia, Yugoslavia, Rwanda, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh…no country has ever risen above the mass rapes of women of the vanquished people by the victors and in almost every case the stories have been buried, not by the perpetrators as much as by the nations of the victims…in defense of their national “honor”.
The independence and partition of India and Pakistan was a violent upheaval that cannot be justified, even by the “prize” of “Freedom”. Estimates of the dead vary, but a million people dead on both sides of the India-Pakistan border is a conservative number. What was understood to be a peaceful bifurcation, was turned on its head after extremists on both sides, whipped up anti-’Other’ hysteria; Hindus and Sikhs forcing Muslims to leave India and Muslims forcing Hindus and Sikhs to leave Pakistan. Prejudice goes a long way. After it infects the primary person, it is passed on the others at the same level, to juniors and to other impressionable people, until very soon, its effects can be seen across the board
Prejudice is corrosive at all levels, it is bad when parents share their prejudice with their children who make it their own, it is bad when friends share their prejudice with each other and exercise it against others, but it is especially bad when it is shared in training of people who have the power of freedom or prison; life or death.
Prejudice travels best when it is unopposed and when it is disguised as beneficial to neighbors or, to society, thus causing irretrievable damage.
This is how genocidal movements get their energy and how they succeed; just ask Hitler, Milosevic, Habyarimana…ask anybody who is in the hate-business and they will share their prejudice, cloaked as a blessing to humanity. The justifications for spreading prejudice, almost always include the protection of the innocence of a society against an inexorable evil.
One unintended consequence of promoting prejudice is, that once unleashed, it becomes uncontrollable and attacks the originators and the spectators, just as easily as the targets.
The Germans who watched silently as Jews were marched off to death camps, soon found themselves rubbing shoulders with the same Jews in the same camps; the Sunni Muslims who stayed on the sidelines as extremist Sunnis bombed Shia gatherings, soon found themselves and their own loved ones also being targeted and victimized by the same fanatics.
There has always been a latent prejudice against Muslims in the West and

Dear Dr. Beyer,
I am shocked to note that
you are providing a platform to the Hate-Islam group, “Middle East Forum” (MEF) in order to ”Balance” a simple forum on what it means to be a Muslim in America. This is not unlike inviting members of a local Nazi Party in order to “balance” a talk on Jews and Judaism or, inviting someone from the KKK to “balance” a talk on Blacks in America on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Sometimes, one views being right with mixed feelings; somewhat like saying that French public will revolt soon and we will all be taken to the Guillotine…and then being carted to the public square for the guillotining during the revolution; there is absolutely no satisfaction in being right!
For a long time, I have been saying that if the Republican Party comes to power, Muslims are going to see persecution as perhaps we have not seen before. I have been saying this because the Republican Party machinery has been actively pursuing virulent anti-Muslim rhetoric disguised a “Patriotism”; their different party clubs have been showing hate-Islam videos, their Senators have been inviting Islamophobes to the Capitol and hosting Hate-Islam video screenings for Congressional members and Read more »

Illiteracy, ignorance, closed-mindedness and intolerance won the day when Asia bibi, a Christian woman living in a largely Muslim village, was accused of insulting the prophet Mohammed and jailed under Pakistan’s so-called “Blasphemy” laws; she was sentenced to death by a Pakistani court, because she supposedly said, “the Quran is fake and your prophet remained in bed for one month before his death because he had worms in his ears and mouth. He married Khadija just for money and after looting her kicked her out of the house.”
As a Muslim who grew up in Pakistan…a MUCH more tolerant Pakistan then than now, I can tell you that this statement could never have been made by a Christian villager in Pakistan, no matter what the provocation…never. The only exception under which a non-Muslim IN PAKISTAN, would say such a thing, would be if the speaker were stupid, crazy AND incurably suicidal. Clearly, the allegations were manufactured by the women who took the accusation to the local imam who then laid the charges against her, later saying he “cried tears of joy when the sentence was passed”. Idiot. Read more »

America Today…Living Hypocrisy
The title itself is enough to get the REAL Americans to get their guns and growl at these “Muzlems” who are just itching to destroy “our way of life”; few will start thinking about what it could mean, some will read this essay just so they can dismiss the writer (me) as a crazy who has no idea of what REAL FREEDOM means and the many sacrifices that are necessary to preserve this hard-earned “FREEDOM”.
There is a lot of mythology around what America is and what it stands for. The tragedy is that for a brief period in our history America may have meant all the things we seek to hold dear and all the things we glorify as representing these great United States. But that period of nirvana was far to brief to be recorded properly as representing America; for the past century, we have been living one life, while holding up a different persona to glorify and people have not dared to say that the Empire has no clothes for fear of being condemned as traitors who don’t deserve to enjoy what we serve up to the people.
This is a New Year’s message to my fellow Americans and to America, it is not meant to dredge up past history, the past Century or, what we have been doing with our foreign policy; this message is meant to discuss what is happening NOW, over the past ten years and how America is accelerating towards a totalitarian regime that could remind us of the Soviet Bloc countries.
