Profiling: Anti-Muslim training at our Police Departments

I have been saying for some time, that our Military, Police, FBI and CIA are being steeped in fear and suspicion of Islam and Muslims. This takes forms of “Recommended Reading” Lists provided to them during and after their training…and on the lists are books such as “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam” by Robert Spencer, books by “experts” on Islam and terrorism, like Daniel Pipes and a host of other bigots who make a lot of money spreading their venom against Islam and Muslims.

Additionally, “experts” are hired by the military, the FBI, the CIA and often, paid for, by Department of Homeland Security (I call it “Fatherland Security”) funds. These “experts” got to their fame and fortune by spreading fear and hate against Islam and Muslims, by “quoting” enough out-of-context snippets from the Quran to make their case before naïve audiences who do not seek to verify the “quotes”…if they did, they would know them to be false!

These days, it is enough to speak loud and long about how Muslims are predisposed to violence and how they are easily recruited as suicide bombers…and then move on to talking about Muslims, Muslims and MUSLIMS, so that by the time these “experts” are done, another cadre of fully-armed guardians of the nation, is ready and willing to nab the last “Muzlem“! Muslims Disgraced: Intolerance Against Ahmadiyya

Recently, one of the e-mails to a list that I subscribe to, included a story of the brutal killing of a couple of members of the Ahmediyyah sect, at the hands of fanatical Muslim villagers in Indonesia. It was a disgusting story of brutality and intolerance and even more disgusting was the reaction by those in authority whose jobs it is, to maintain peace and justice in the land.
Rather than seek to punish the perpetrators, the politicians and the judges decided to not antagonize the fanatics and showed extraordinary leniency towards the worst of the perpetrators, a teenager who smashed the skull of one of the victims, with a rock.

This teen was released within months and was greeted as a hero by his villagers…and in silence by the national leadership. It forced me to wonder what example had been set in that area, for the growing children and what example will be seen of Muslims, by the world that does not know the truth of Islam…as obviously, neither did these villagers and perpetrators.

Is the first resort to violence coming from generations of autocratic rule where any dissent is met by violence, where the thugs at the top, have the power to kill anyone with impunity and where Justice has no meaning? Read more »

As the “Muslim World” disintegrates…

Pakistan. Newsflash that more people have been killed in Karachi, shot in sectarian attacks. Areas of Karachi are “no-go” for Pathans (Pashtuns) and other areas are “no-go” for Urdu-speaking (“Muhajirs”).
The ethnic battles are fired and fuelled by ethnic-political leaders who are in regional government and have employed thugs to create greater rifts between ethnic people in order to be more powerful within their own ethnic groups.
Hate and Fear are universal in creating leadership.

Pakistan’s ethnic splits occur between Pathans, Punjabis, Sindhis, Mohaijrs and Baloch…all fired and fuelled by Read more »

Ramadan & Fasting; Step in Our Shoes…

First Published August 24, 2008

This year, the Muslim month of Ramadan in the year 1432, begins on Monday, August 1st. The Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Mohammed during this, the ninth month of the Muslim Lunar calendar, making it the holiest month for Muslims.

This is the month for Read more »

Norway Massacre; a Symptom or the Disease?

We have all mourned the tragedy of the children slaughtered on Norway by Anders Breivig, a right-wing Christian terrorist. Muslims heaved a sigh of relief that this man was not a “Muzlem“, as everyone believed at first, but a REAL, “homegrown Terrorist”, i.e., a Christian. Some of us Muslims, have taken great pains to point out that Breivig is NOT a Muslim and conversation has been place on the front burner, that Christians…non-Muslims…are just as capable of butchery as Muslims.

In the next few days, there will be endless acknowledgments that yes, we must also be wary of Christian right-wing extremists as we are of Muslim extremists and that terrorism is not a monopoly after all. There will also be the inevitable, “yes, BUT…” and people will start to point at Muslims again and eventually, the conversation that remains, will once again, focus on Muslims and on Islam. Crumbling US-Pakistan relations

“U.S. Is Deferring Millions in Pakistani Military Aid”
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/10/world/asia/10intel.html?pagewanted=1&_r=2&nl=todaysheadlines&emc=tha2
“WASHINGTON – The Obama administration is suspending and, in some cases, canceling hundreds of millions of dollars of aid to the Pakistani military, in a move to chasten Pakistan for expelling American military trainers and to press its army to fight militants more effectively.”

This headline may strike well at home in the US, but it reflects the arrogant, self-centered, group-think that has become the hallmark of the US. To be sure, there are many lobbies that will applaud this decision, lobbies such as, Right-wing Republicans, the Tea Party, right-wing Jewish and Christian groups and of course, there is always India. To these groups, any bashing of the “nucular, trrrrst” Pakistan is a welcome development.

Of course, Pakistan does deserve a swift kick in the behind and often, but this is not the time to do so. A sudden cutting off of aid reinforces the unreliability of the US as a friend and partner; the US has been complaining for long that the US-Pakistan relationship is a transactional one and by treating it so transactionally right now, the US is telling Pakistan…the civilians and the military… that the US cannot be trusted when Pakistan needs a friend Read more »

Sanity, Science And Islam

It is that time of the year again, it is time for Muslims to split along lines of “tradition”, “Sunnah” (practices of the prophet Mohammed s.a.w.) and other excuses covering sectarian and political differences while hiding behind Islamic justifications.

In two-and-a-half months, Muslims will abandon Islam en masse, in preference for the political jockeying for being RIGHT and nobody will object to it unless it is to say that their idea of seeing the Moon is “righter” than others.

In two-and-a-half months, the world of Islam will suffer its fractures again as Read more »

US War Criminals, where are they now?

There are many Americans…REAL Americans who are war-criminals but have escaped prosecution because America does not prosecutes its own. Just like the promiscuous woman who is always seen talking about chastity, the US is always seen to be talking about “Freedom”, “Democracy” and “Human Rights”, but is also always seen as the power behind the worst tyrants and despots in the world.

Every war the US has ever been involved in, produced a new cadre of American war-criminals, but none have ever been seriously prosecuted by the US. I say “seriously”, because the worst war crimes trial the US was involved in was the My Lai Massacre trial of Lt. Caley…the ONLY person out of 26, to be convicted…and then served 3.5 years…under house arrest!

The crimes against humanity by the US began with first Iraq war and continued through the sanctions regimen which took over a MILLION lives because the Iraqis could not even get the simple but crucial medicines to save their children and their adults.

Today, we have an entirely new cesspool of scoundrels who should be tried and hanged publicly, for the crimes against humanity, for war crimes and for destroying the most cherished values of what the US stood for Below is just a short list of those criminals who valued the stock prices of their feeder corporations, more than the lives of the dirty “Muzlems” or even more than the lives of the soldiers who were sent “out there” to “defend America”: Read more »

Raymond Ibrahim’s attacks on Islam and Muslims

Just a few years ago I had never heard of Raymond Ibrahim and I never missed the experience; there are so may “experts” on Islam and on “Terrorism” that it is hard to keep up with the growing number of such people who seek to promote themselves by pressing another knife in the backs of Muslims.

Over the past year, I gradually became aware of one called Raymond Ibrahim, but I did not pay serious attention until I heard that he had been invited to speak at Everett Community College…on Islam!

Cursory investigation revealed that he was definitely one of those who made their careers spreading misinformation about Islam and Muslims; I decided to check him out in more detail, I decided to examine more closely, his writing on “Taqiyya” or Muslims’ lying, on his Everett presentation and on his book, “The Al Qaeda Reader” and to report on all three in this essay.

I found that he is one of the more effective hate-mongers against Islam and Muslims, not because he says things that have not been said by his peers, but because of the way in which he delivers his message. Raymond Ibrahim makes a great pretense of being objective, he insists that he has nothing personal against Islam, Muslims or Arabs (“some of my good friends are Muslims”), Read more »

Thoughts on Muslims arrested in Florida

“Florida Imams Arrested for Aiding Pakistani Taliban” http://www.cnbc.com/id/43037173?par=RSS

The imam of a Florida mosque and his two sons, one also a Muslim spiritual leader, were arrested on Saturday on charges of financing and supporting the Pakistani Taliban, U.S. official said.”

Like most Muslims, when I first read this news, I was stunned, “Not another one!” I thought to myself…Imams at that! I read that the imam exulted when he heard the news of five US soldiers killed in Afghanistan and said he wished they were 50,000 more and I was completely disgusted, “Put him in the deepest hole you can find!” I thought to myself. I wanted to hide my face before someone might ask me what I thought about the three arrested in Florida, what could I possibly say to them?

It took a day before I was able to think clearly and not react and reject the Florida three out of conditioned reflexes. Six people, including these three, were charged with, ““supporting acts of murder, kidnapping and maiming in Pakistan and elsewhere” carried out by the Pakistani Taliban“.

We need to calm down and not join the group-think of condemnation simply because the accused are Muslim and we represent the institutions of “Freedom and Democracy” that no right-thinking person should abandon. Group-think seldom results in Justice being served, but group-think often results in egregious miscarriages of Justice as Read more »
