(Originally written on July 16, 2007). At last count, about 100 people had been declared killed in the siege of Lal Masjid (Red Mosque) in Islamabad, Pakistan. Once inside, the Army, which led the attack on the barricaders inside the Mosque, found not just a few pistols and rifles, they found machine-guns and rocket-propelled grenade launchers, hardly something that qualifies as religious or peaceful. Today’s (8.14.2007) news featured an attack by Israel, on Gaza, killing ten Palestinians including “gunmen”, “Hamas terrorists” and an elderly mother “being used as a human shield”.
“Well done IDF!” was the most-voiced comment in Israel…great glory and righteousness on the part of IDF; Israel may survive yet another day.

(Originally written on September 20, 2007). Around July 2007, Swedish artist Lars Vilks, created some drawings that claimed to be the face of the Prophet Mohammed on the body of a dog; his idea was to provoke people by proposing a model to be placed on a roundabout in Sweden.
